Business Philosophy:

As president of 63 Bravo Web Design, it is important to express the business philosophy of keeping the client, “Website Happy”.  Website Happy is where the owner of the website not only loves the design of the site but also feels confident that it will serve the company’s needs and the customers they serve the way it should without fail.

Services Offered:

The services 63 Bravo Web Design provides are website “creation from scratch”, pre-made website templates “plug-n-play”, photo-editing and maintenance of existing websites “repair-or-update”.

I. Website creation has three aspects, designed to meet the needs of budget free clients and budget conscious clients:

Websites from scratch

1.  Building websites from scratch are for the customer who have a specific or complex design concept for the website. This may include PHP for an email form or survey, JavaScript for a photo slide show or photo editing. Website design layout is part of this service as well as assisting the client in the design concept of a website. A wire-frame mock-up will be created after a consultation with the client. Our design consultant will get the information needed from the customer by asking specific questions and reviewing other website designs the client likes.

Plug-n-play website templates

2. WordPress Websites CMS (content management system) are for dynamic needs unlike what a simple static site might offer. This would be more for a blogger or a business where a database is needed to mange the products. There are many reasons why someone might need a CMS but they do need to have new content posted regularly for good SEO. There are many free themes but I would recommend a premium theme. The premium themes offer much more customization and the are not expensive. We will help you decide what theme is best for you.

3. These static Plug-n-Play website templates are for customers who need a quick website with no complex needs and have a smaller budget. There is a series of unique website designs with different layouts ranging from one page to five pages.

II. Our photo editing is a service that that goes well with web design and as its own service. For web design, many people don’t understand web standards for pictures, so they end up with slow loading websites and images not sized properly. 63 Bravo Web Design photo-editing service can help you with these problems.

III. Website maintenance service is fixing and updating existing websites.

Fixing a Website

1. Fixing a website would be changing it to a responsive design, a major overall design change or correcting code that is causing it to not work properly. Maybe there is a 404 error or the content is not displaying as it should or the site is not viewable on a smart phone. A technician will review the code and repair what is causing the issues.

Updating a Website

2. Updating a website would be changing out the content for new content.

  • This would include updating to html5 and css3 from previous versions
  • Replacing the content like the copy and photos
  • updating the look of the logo
  • Changing the color of the website
  • Replacing or adding links
  • Adding new features like an email form and social media icons.
  • The service also includes reviewing and modifying the search engine optimization for better search results.

About Steven James

Steven James, President of 63 Bravo Web Design and former President of James Painting Inc. started his humble beginnings growing up in Leominster, Ma.

He always dreamed of achieving something bigger for his life. Though the early days of painting might not be everyone’s dream, he just fell into it on a recommendation to a painting contractor from a friend at 17.

Surprisingly, it was a great fit and he enjoyed what he was doing. He excelled in his job rising through the ranks from apprentice to journeyman and finally foreman.

At 21, Steven was still looking for more, so to better himself he enlisted in the US Army. It was a profound experience for him; he achieved a great deal and received many accommodations for his dedication. He was honorably discharged after four years.

Arriving in Portland in 1996, married and with a two-year-old daughter. And you guessed it, he went back to painting with a dream of having his own contracting business. He also volunteered with Search and Rescue and helped with fixing up homes for people in need.

Applying what he learned in the military; discipline, honesty, hard work, perseverance and self-motivation to painting while working for two other companies.

In 2001, he started his own business, a dream realized! Having to get a second job to help his wife through school was the motivator and he has never looked back.

 A New Begining

President Of 63 Bravo Web Design Steven James

At the age of 46, Steven went back to school to achieve another goal, a college degree. Received his Associates Degree for Applied Science in Web Design and Development with a GPA of 3.96 two years later. Steven really enjoyed his time in school studying html5, css3, UI/UX, Bootstrap, WordPress, php, JavaScript, Photoshop, Photography and business. He will apply what he learned from school, the military, working for other companies, volunteering and his construction business to create a premier Web Design and Development business that will help other businesses grow.

Looking for one more change after 21 years of living in Portland, Steven and his wife decided to move to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2017 to start 63 Bravo Web Design.

Steven says he would not be where he is, if not for his wife, daughter, friends, coworkers and the US Army.
