The Color Blue: Why | When To Use It

What is the Color Blue?

Color is a major aspect in website design! The color blue is no exception. That is why at 63 Bravo we made a point to understand color and how it may impact the viewer. Most people or companies have an idea about what they want for website colors, and that’s great. But even if you have colors or you have no idea where to start, we can help you with a nice color palette. No one really sees the code of a website but they do see the design, and color in part of the design.

The color blue is a primary color that can not be created by combining other colors. Unlike the color red that can have strong emotions tied to it, the color blue is more subtle but is more complex and has more meaning. Blue relates to loyalty, trust, responsibility, honesty… It can give a sense of confidence and reduce stress while being strong and tranquil. The color blue is used by many businesses for these reasons. The Color Blue and red bricks

The color blue is more forgiving than the color red. It can be used more often because it doesn’t create stress, but you still do not want to over use it. Unlike many other colors, you can use blue text but be sure to check contrast. A darker blue would work better than a lighter blue on a white background.

Where to use The Color Blue

Some places to use the color blue on your website could be the header and footer to give piece in symmetry. For a background in a section of content that reflect the meaning but would refrain from using it on the whole page. Your Military Uniforms with The Color Bluelogo and other images throughout your page. Boarders around images and content as an accent. And even some graphic design effects using different shades of blue.

But remember, meaning and feeling is everything when designing the look of your website. Using the right color with the meaning of the content is important. Refrain from using blue with energetic content if you want the reader to be energized. It’s a mixed signal. You can use the color blue for a presentation about ethics or nature but not an article about a brutal MMA match.
